While home in Southern California, I got into a beachy mood and whipped up a batch of these gorgeous sugar cookies. The only downside? Heating up the house with the oven when it was already 78 degrees outside! I used this recipe, but I added vanilla, a vanilla bean would have been even better. For the icing I used this recipe from Cupcakes and Cashmere (it's a keeper, thanks Emily!). Just because the holidays are over doesn't mean we can't indulge every now and then, right?
