2Hawk Winery

Nothing says getaway better than wine tasting! My roommate Courtney and I recently headed south to Medford to spend a weekend with my family friends, Marybeth and Greg. While we didn't have a set plan of things to do, Marybeth had us covered. She took us to antique-filled downtown Jacksonville, wine tasting at the unique wineries, and for dinner at an exquisite Italian restaurant.
2Hawk was one of the three wineries we sipped at. The western-inspired, honky-tonk winery was such a quirky experience. Employees strutting in cowboy boots, old tractor seats lining the front porch, and the clutter of beat up metal signs give this winery its truly unique character.
A great lighting fixture, crafted from old wine bottles!
I tried three red wines and one white. Some whites are too sweet for me, so I normally prefer reds. I tried 2Hawk's Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. I'm no wine expert, but my favorite was the Cab.
Located under an hour north of the California-Oregon boarder, these Southern Oregon vineyards are ones to watch. Wine production is booming in this area of Southern Oregon with vineyards in every direction. We're already planning our next trip to try more of the many wineries in the area.

XX,
S. Roderick
