Oregon Coast Eatin'

Whenever we go out of town, I'm glued to Yelp looking for hot spot restaurants. Last weekend when we visited the coast was no exception. Sure I spend a little too much time on Yelp, but it pays off with delicious food, so over all it's a win! It was a quick trip, but here are two of the places we ate at while on our getaway.

We wanted to go out to a nicer dinner after our massages and spa day, so I made us a reservation at Tidal Raves Seafood Grill. We started with drinks and the calamari appetizer. The only disappointment was that my Moscow Mule didn't come in the classic copper mug. On the plus side, the ginger-infused vodka was house made and delicious! As for the main event, I had scallops on top of a grilled potato cake bed with a delicious smoked tomato glaze. Alex had wild salmon with shrimp, which came with a basil salsa and seriously amazing garlic mashed potatoes. We don't usually have dessert, but Alex spotted key lime pie on the menu and couldn't refuse. Our food was all delicious, but the service was just ok. In its defense, it was busy and towards closing, but still, nothing impressive. The atmosphere was romantic, and the location has an ocean view.

For breakfast the following morning, we went to a neat little place, and when I say "little," I mean that this place only has 8 tables. It's called the Beach Dog Cafe, and it's filled with dog-themed details from floor to ceiling! Alex had a classic breakfast dish and I went for a sweet stuffed french toast option. We both devoured our meals, and we're more than satisfied. The service here was casual, but incredibly friendly and efficient. The only problems are the wait, which is long because of the restaurant's size, and that they are a cash-only establishment.

So, if you find yourself near Lincoln City or Depoe Bay in Oregon, these are two places to try!
