In the Kitchen: Earl Grey Shortbread

I've never been much of a coffee girl. Tea has always been my warm beverage of choice. So when I thought about making shortbread cookies the other day, earl grey just seemed like a natural flavor to add. For these cookies, I used my favorite shortbread recipe from the Tartine Bakery cookbook (find the recipe here). I modified it by cutting open a tea bag and adding the finely ground leaves to my dry ingredients. I also stopped by the market to grab my favorite Italian vanilla white chocolate chips to add some creaminess to my cookies.

Enjoy with a hot cup of tea!

  1. I've tried simmering the tea in butter for 1/2hr and then using that butter in a cupcake recipe - so good!

    1. That sounds delicious! I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the tip!
