Dessert, Please

Last night I surprised Alex by taking him to one of our favorite restaurants, Papa's Soul Food. Since we go out to dinner so rarely, we try to make it feel special when we do. We go somewhere nicer, get a little dressed up then order drinks, an appetizer and our entrees. By the time the dessert menu is placed in front of us, we can't imagine swallowing another morsel. But last night we knew we had to try the bread pudding right from the beginning.

We both only have one month left in Eugene; we can't leave without trying Papa's bread pudding! When it came time for dessert, we asked for the bread pudding and were caught off guard by the choice of caramel sauce or bourbon sauce (can you really go wrong here?). We ordered the bourbon and our lives were changed. Maybe that's a little dramatic, but we will no longer go to Papa's and skip on dessert.
