I'm going crazy with this Southern California weather. Who would have known that living in the Pacific Northwest for four years would make me miss cold weather so extremely. I know what you're thinking, "Is she really complaining about 75 degree weather in November?" Yes. I am, and today I'm three some reasons why you shouldn't be surprised.
1. Imagine going months without a drop of rain. We had our first rain since I've returned home, and it lasted maybe 12 hours. It sounds nice in theory, but it leads to major problems. Have you heard about our drought?
2. Goodbye fall and winter clothes. It was maybe 60 degree the other morning, so I threw this on, but by 10 o'clock it the sun was beating down, and every piece of this outfit came off.
3. I would adore the weather if I could go to the beach everyday, but we have those things called jobs here Southern California too. I'm thankful I don't have to work outside. I don't know how those people do it.
4. Two words: hot cars. Not to mention many people in my area don't have air conditioning.
It isn't that I don't like warm weather, I don't like freezing weather either, but it's nice having a break from the heat every now and then. Just like I'm sure people in cold places would love a break from their weather too. So I find myself missing good ole Eugene with all it's rain and cloudy weather, but I have to admit that fall just skipped over us this year.
