I threw on this outfit Saturday without thinking about what I had to do that day. So when I walked into the grocery store, I couldn't help but notice I was the only one in heels. Maybe in some U.S. cities you'll catch people wearing heels at the grocery store, but Huntington Beach is not one of them. Our relaxed beach culture means flip-flops and t-shirts year-round. Heels are mostly saved for school dances and evenings out. I'm even surprised by the low number of women who wear heels to the office.
I'm still working on breaking these ivory pumps in. I found them at DSW in December, while frantically shoe shopping for my sister's wedding. Spoiler: I didn't wear these, but I couldn't bring myself to return them either. I loved their ivory color, labeled as "bone," and their soft snake-like texture, but what really sold me was how they felt (weird?). The fact that they look amazing with my blanket scarf definitely didn't hurt.
