Neutral Zone

I feel like I'm in a neutral point in my life; I'm in the neutral zone for almost everything. It's especially frustrating because I know exactly what I want. I also know I can't get what I want at this point in my life and career (or lack there of).
Everyone has to "do their time," but what does that mean if your future career doesn't really have a set path? How do I know I'm going the right way? Since I cannot answer these questions, I feel like I'm stationary. I'm not discouraged; I keep trying to take steps into what I think may be the right direction, but doors keep closing. And all I can do is keep hoping things will come together, and I'm sure they will. I guess I'm just no good at the waiting part.
