Bloodies + Bites

June - July is going to be pretty busy for my group of friends. One just came home briefly after spending nine months in Spain and before moving back to Chicago, while another friend's family is moving across the country, her included. With all of the moving, growing and change I knew we had to take advantage of everyone being in town, so I had some friends over for Bloody Marys and light bites yesterday afternoon.

Each guest was asked to bring a snack or appetizer, as well as a topping for the Bloody Marys. And then I took care of the Bloody Mary base, tableware and additional treats. We snacked on quiche, cucumber cream cheese bites, olives, caprese toasts and more. Even my friends who aren't fans of Bloody Marys gave them a try and had a fun time fixing them up with bacon, olives and celery.

Whenever we throw a gathering like this one, we're always missing a friend or two, but this time everyone was able to come (plus 3)! I'm sure we'll spend more time together before certain friends permanently depart, but if not, this was the perfect way to send them off

  1. What a great idea!! I love that quiche with the asparagus, did you make that??! That's so nice that everyone could get together, I know how hard it is these days!
