My blonde-haired, pale-skinned family has lived in Huntington Beach for the past twenty years. With beach weather year round, it goes without saying that we've gone through tubes and tubes of sunscreen. Somewhere along the line I took a special liking to sunscreen, and made it my mission to try out many different brands. After a bad experience with spray sunscreen (I'm talking speckled, sunburned legs after a weekend in Catalina), I decided lotion was my best option. But most of these do come in spray forms.
Honest Company Sunscreen Lotion: I don't have children, but I tried out Honest Company products during college to see if they'd help my eczema. You'll always find Honest laundry detergent in my home, and you'll find this sunscreen in my beach bag. I love that you can get Honest products at Target, and you can even get a double pack of this sunscreen at Costco!
Coola Face Mineral Sunscreen: I tried this product about a year ago in my Birchbox and never looked back. The mineral tint is perfect and the texture is heavenly. I also love the cucumber scented one!
Sun Bum Lotion: My sisters and I worked at local surf shop for years, and while we worked there Sun Bum blew up. We, of course, had to get some. It's still a popular sunscreen in Orange County and also a family favorite sunscreen. The brand is super fun, and the scent is lovely.
Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen: Yes, that is an 18 ounce container, and you'll use every last drop. It also comes in normal sizes, but if you live in Southern California where you need sunscreen everyday, the 18 ounce bottle is worth it.
Bare Republic Mineral Sunscreen Sport: On one of my routine Target trips I spotted this gem, and decided to give it a try. I love how it doesn't quite rub in all of the way, so I know it's really protecting my skin. It's also by Coola, which meant I trusted the product immediately.
