I have a deep appreciate for all kinds of tea. Ever since I was little I remember my mom hosting tea parties for different groups of people, and I always got a front row seat. In high school, when my oldest sister studied abroad in England, my mom took us to visit where we enjoyed tea at least three times a day. We stopped into modern tea houses, and one of the oldest in the country. It was an incredible experience. So when Andy from Plum Deluxe asked if I was interested in trying some of his teas, I had to say yes.
For the past few months I've been enjoying three different kinds of Plum Deluxe tea, but recently the green tea has been my go-to. Since I prefer not to add refined sugar to my tea, black tea is sometimes too bitter for my taste. But green tea with a little bit of honey is an essential part of my morning ritual. Today I wanted to share a recipe for green tea with a twist using Plum Deluxe's Garden Grove Green Tea. I'm a tad bit obsessed with lemon, and I swear it helps me maintain my weight and health, but always make sure to brush your teeth after because lemon destroys enamel.
Green Tea Lemonade
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon Garden Grove Green Tea
- 1-2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 lemon
Put the two cups of water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat, add the green tea to the water, and cover the saucepan with a lid. Steep for 5 minutes then strain the tea leaves. Add the honey and stir until dissolved. Let the tea cool then squeeze the juice from the lemon into the tea. Pour the green tea lemonade into ice-filled glasses and enjoy!
